Italy – Day 5

The last day of a ride on a bike tour is always the most amazing, longest, hardest, and what you have been working for all week. We are going 35 miles to the Southern-most tip of the peninsula of Italy where the Adriatic and Ionian seas meet.

ELevation Guide

The elevation guide looks like an erratic heart beat. There is always apprehension that maybe I won’t make it all the way but, the ride is so worth it.

I first ride through rolling fields of wild flowers along the coast. Then, I find myself making it up incline after incline. I am taking baby steps and don’t dwell on the huge inclines I must tackle. I look right in front of me and make it to that spot. The next thing I know, I am at the top of my first peak without any problem at all! After that I just kept conquering each and every peak until I made to all the way.

Monet and Bill give me hope that two people can find the most perfect relationship.
This beautiful girl is one of my guides, mentor, and teacher – thank you Sonja!
Bill is amazing steong!  Dog in a basket.  Random garden.
Made it to the end!

I cannot tell you what it feels like to accomplish this ride. We stop periodically to take photos.

Feeling like I can conquer anything!
